Affordable, professional websites for Lancing’s trades, shops and independents. Built by a local Sussex designer, live in days, everything included.
Lancing is a big place, one of the largest village clusters in the country, and there is a lot of local trade to go round if customers can actually find you. Page Forge builds Lancing businesses a professional, fast-loading website for a fraction of typical agency prices, with none of the maintenance headaches. Everything included, live in about a week, from £99.
We are a short drive away in Hassocks, so this end of the Adur valley is a patch we know. From the guesthouses on Brighton Road to the units on Lancing Business Park and the trades working across North Lancing, plenty of businesses here are either paying too much for a clunky old website or getting by with none at all. Either way, the work goes to whoever turns up first when someone searches. An affordable, well-built site that loads fast and reads well on a phone fixes that without a big bill or a long contract.
You do not need to know anything technical. Tell us what you do and the areas you cover, and we handle the design, the words, your .co.uk domain, the hosting, the SSL and the updates afterwards. Lancing is a short drive up the road, so we work along the coast mostly by phone, email and video, with a visit when it genuinely helps, and it makes no difference to the result. If you run a trade, our websites for tradespeople are built around the searches your customers actually make.
On Your Doorstep
Lancing is a large coastal village and civil parish in the Adur district of West Sussex, on the western edge of the Adur valley, with a population of around 19,000. It sits between smaller Sompting to the west, larger Shoreham-by-Sea to the east and the parish of Coombes to the north, and is often said to be one of the largest undivided village clusters in Britain. In practice its economy runs as part of the wider Brighton, Worthing and Littlehampton conurbation, so a customer in Lancing may just as easily be searching from Sompting or Shoreham.
It was a popular seaside resort in the mid-19th century, and you can still see the traces: the traditional guesthouses along the A259 Brighton Road, the shingle beach with its stretches of clean sand at low water, and Widewater, a rare brackish lagoon the coast road runs alongside that is the only known home of the probably extinct Ivell’s sea anemone. North of the built-up area is Lancing Ring, a nature reserve in the South Downs National Park, and beyond that the farmland attached to Lancing College.
There is old history here too. An Iron Age shrine and a later Romano-British temple were found just west of Lancing Ring in 1828, and the Roman road, Stane Street, ran through modern North Lancing down toward a ford across the Adur. Much of the land that is now housing was once market gardens growing fruit and flowers for the Brighton market and Covent Garden, with growers like Sparks producing tomatoes and Young’s producing carnations under glass. On the eastern side sits Shoreham Airport, the oldest continually operated airport in the world, which served as an RAF base in the Second World War.
The railway reached Lancing in 1849 on what is now the West Coastway Line, and from 1908 the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway built its carriage and wagon works here. That closed in 1965 under the Beeching cuts, and the land became the Lancing Business Park, still a hub for local firms today. For a local business, that detail is the point rather than decoration. It is what makes a website read as genuinely from Lancing rather than generic copy that could be about anywhere on the coast, and Google increasingly leans toward pages that clearly belong to a place. We write your site to sound like it comes from here, name the right neighbours, and make sure it says West Sussex, because that is where Lancing is.
