Affordable, professional websites for Peacehaven’s trades, shops and small businesses. Built by a Sussex designer, live in days, everything included.
Peacehaven is a working coastal town with thousands of households and a lot of local trade to go round: builders, electricians, cleaners, mobile services and independents strung along the A259. Page Forge builds them an affordable website that looks professional and gets found, without the agency price tag. Everything is included, and most sites go live in about a week from £99.
It is a town and civil parish in the Lewes district of East Sussex, up on the chalk cliffs about six miles east of Brighton, with a population of over fifteen thousand at the last census. That is a big local market. People here search for a nearby trade, weigh up the first few results and ring whoever looks settled and close. A missing or dated website hands that work straight to a competitor.
The technical side is ours, not yours. You tell us what you do and where you cover, and we handle the design, the words, your .co.uk domain, the hosting and the updates. We build for trades and small firms right along the coast and across Sussex, from Oilfire Heating to Phoenix Piling, so you get real value and a designer who picks up the phone.
On Your Doorstep
Peacehaven is a modern town with an unusual start. It was founded in 1916 by the entrepreneur Charles Neville, who ran a national newspaper competition to name it and first called it New Anzac-on-Sea, before it was renamed Peacehaven in 1917. The competition ended in a lawsuit from the Daily Express, but the publicity only pulled in more buyers. The town also has a genuine claim to fame: the Greenwich meridian crosses the English coast right here, marked by an obelisk on the cliff top that Neville commissioned and unveiled in 1936, since moved back twice as the cliff erodes.
The town grew through the plotlands movement, working families buying cheap plots and building their own homes, some of them out of old railway carriages and army huts. Neville laid it out on an American-style grid, with Roads running east to west and Avenues north to south off the South Coast Road, now the A259. That grid still defines the town, and the Meridian Shopping Centre sits at the middle of it. The singer Gracie Fields ran a children’s home here from 1933, a reminder of how quickly the place put down roots.
Peacehaven runs up to the edge of the Brighton to Newhaven Cliffs, a Site of Special Scientific Interest known for its fossils, and it sits next to Telscombe Cliffs to the west and Newhaven to the east. With a population of over fifteen thousand, it has its own town council and is due to move into an enlarged Brighton and Hove area under the local government reorganisation planned for 2028. For now, it is very much its own place, with its own carnival, Donkey Derby and events on The Dell.
For a local business, that self-contained feel is an advantage. When someone searches “builder Peacehaven” or “near me” along this coast, Google leans on where a business is and how well its site is built. We write your pages so they belong to Peacehaven, set up your Google Business Profile, and keep the whole thing fast on a phone, which is where most of these searches start.
Also covering: Telscombe Cliffs, Newhaven, Saltdean, Rottingdean, Piddinghoe, Brighton and the surrounding villages.
