These terms apply whenever you buy a service from Page Forge. We have kept them as short and plain as we can. If anything is unclear, ask us before you pay.
1. Who we are
Page Forge is a trading name of Charlotte Watson, a sole trader based in the UK. Our address is Hassocks, West Sussex, BN6 8HE. You can reach us at hello@pageforge.co.uk or on 07404 313608. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean Page Forge, and “you” means the person or business buying from us.
2. How the agreement starts
Our agreement starts when you accept a quote from us or make your first payment, whichever comes first. If we have agreed something different with you in writing, such as a specific quote or proposal, that takes priority over these terms where the two differ.
3. What we provide
Exactly what is included depends on what you buy. Our current packages and prices are on our pricing page. In summary:
- Website plans (monthly or annual). We design, write and build your website and look after your domain, UK hosting and SSL certificate. The plan includes six content updates a year and ongoing support by phone and email. Unused updates do not roll over to the next year.
- One-off services such as SEO, AI optimisation, Google Analytics setup and Google Workspace setup. These cover the work described when you buy. Anything extra is quoted separately.
- IT and AI consulting. Fixed-price or agreed pieces of work. We are not a managed IT support provider, so unless we agree it in writing, we do not provide an ongoing helpdesk, monitoring or emergency support.
4. What we need from you
To do the work, we need you to:
- send the information, text, photos and access we ask for in reasonable time;
- check that what you give us is accurate and that you have the right to use it, including any photos, logos and text;
- review drafts and reply to our questions so we can finish the work.
If we are held up waiting for something from you, our timescales move back by the same amount.
For IT work such as a Google Workspace setup, you may need to give us temporary administrator or domain access. Once the work is finished, you should change any passwords you shared with us, and we will remind you to do so.
5. Paying us
- Setup fees and one-off services are paid upfront, before we start work.
- Monthly plans are paid by Direct Debit through GoCardless. Annual plans are paid upfront for the year.
- Card payments are taken by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
- If a payment fails, we will let you know and give you 14 days to put it right. If it is still unpaid after that, we may pause your website or service until it is paid.
6. Cancelling
- Monthly plans can be cancelled at any time, with no notice period. Just tell us. Your plan stops at the end of the month you have already paid for. We do not refund part-months.
- Annual plans are paid upfront at a discount and are not refundable. You can cancel at any time so the plan does not renew, and your service continues until the end of the year you have paid for.
- Setup fees and one-off services can be refunded if you cancel before we start work. Once we have started, they are not refundable.
If you are buying as a consumer rather than a business, you also have a legal right to cancel within 14 days. If you ask us to start work within those 14 days, you will pay for the work done up to the point you cancel. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
7. Your domain name
Your domain name belongs to you, and we register it in your name. If you leave us, we will help move it to another registrar of your choice for a one-off fee of £25. You are also free to move it yourself.
8. Who owns what
- Your content stays yours. The text, photos, logos and other material you give us remain your property.
- The design and code are ours. The website design, templates and source code we create remain our property. While you are a customer, you have the right to use your website as your own.
- If you leave, the website itself does not transfer automatically. If you would like to buy the design and source code, we will quote a one-off fee for your particular site.
9. What we can and cannot promise
We will do the work with reasonable care and skill, and we will fix our own mistakes free of charge.
We work hard to keep websites online, but no hosting is perfect, so we cannot guarantee your site will never be unavailable. We also cannot promise particular Google rankings, AI recommendations, traffic or enquiries, because those depend on search engines and other things we do not control. We will always be honest about what is realistic.
10. Limits on our liability
If something goes wrong because of us, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the problem happened. We are not responsible for indirect losses such as lost profits, lost business or lost data. Please keep your own copies of important content and data.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that the law does not allow us to limit.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If a change affects a service you are already paying for, we will tell you before it takes effect. The date at the top of this page shows when the terms were last changed.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute will be handled by the courts of England and Wales. If you have a problem, please talk to us first. Most things can be sorted out with a phone call.
