This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with and what your rights are. We only collect what we need, and we never sell your data.
Who is responsible for your data
Page Forge is a trading name of Charlotte Watson, a sole trader, at Hassocks, West Sussex, BN6 8HE. We are the “controller” of your personal data under UK data protection law. For anything to do with your data, email hello@pageforge.co.uk or call 07404 313608.
What we collect and why
When you contact us
If you use our contact, audit or mockup forms, we collect your name, business name, email address, phone number, website address and your message. We use this to reply to you and, if you go ahead, to provide our services. The form is sent to us by email through our email delivery provider, Resend. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries, or taking steps to enter into a contract with you.
When you become a client
We keep the contact and business details we need to deliver your service, invoice you and keep proper records. For some work, such as setting up Google Workspace or managing your domain, we may need temporary access to your accounts. We use that access only for the agreed work. Our legal basis is the performance of our contract with you, plus our legal obligations for tax and accounting records.
When you pay
Card payments are handled by Stripe and Direct Debits by GoCardless. They collect your payment details directly, and we never see or store your full card or bank details. We receive your name, email address, the amount and whether the payment succeeded.
When you use our free tools
Our free tools need whatever you type in, such as a website address, a business name or a description, to produce a result. Depending on the tool:
- the AI tools send your input to Anthropic, the company behind Claude, to generate the result. Under its commercial terms, Anthropic does not use data sent through its API to train its models;
- the website speed test sends the address you enter to Google PageSpeed Insights;
- the DNS and AI crawler checkers look up public information about the domain or website you enter;
- the local SEO checklist saves your progress in your own browser (local storage). It is never sent to us, and you can clear it at any time.
We do not save what you type into the tools. If something goes wrong, a short error record may be kept in our hosting logs for a limited time so we can fix it. Please do not enter sensitive personal information into the tools.
When you browse the site
We use Google Analytics to understand how people use our website, such as which pages are visited, how people found us, and roughly where they are. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your device type, browser and a shortened version of your IP address. We use this to improve the site, which is our legitimate interest. We do not use it to identify you personally.
Our website is hosted by Vercel, whose servers automatically record basic technical information such as IP addresses and the pages requested, to keep the site running securely. Our fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google’s servers when you visit.
Cookies
Our own website does not set any advertising or tracking cookies. Google Analytics sets cookies (with names starting _ga) that last up to two years, to tell visits apart. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on. The rest of the site works normally without them.
Who we share your data with
We only share personal data with the service providers we need to run the business, and only for the purposes described above:
- Vercel (website hosting)
- Resend (sending form submissions to us by email)
- Google (Analytics, Fonts, PageSpeed Insights and our business email)
- Anthropic (AI tools)
- Stripe and GoCardless (payments)
- our accountant and HMRC, where needed for tax and accounting
Some of these providers are based in, or store data in, the United States. Where that happens, the transfer is protected by the UK–US data bridge or by the standard contractual safeguards approved under UK law.
We never sell your data, and we do not share it for other companies’ marketing.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to any work: up to 2 years, then deleted.
- Client and financial records: 6 years after our work together ends, as required for tax purposes.
- Analytics data: up to 14 months in Google Analytics.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong;
- ask us to delete your data, where we do not need to keep it;
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it;
- ask for your data in a portable format.
To use any of these rights, email hello@pageforge.co.uk. We will reply within one month. It is free.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy if the way we handle data changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
