Fast, professional websites for Saltdean’s trades, shops and home businesses. Built by a Sussex designer, live in days, everything included.
Saltdean is a coastal village with a strong local trade: home services, one-person firms and independents serving the streets that curve back from the Lido and the seafront. Page Forge builds them a website that loads fast and gets found when someone nearby reaches for their phone. Everything is included, and most sites are live in about a week from £99.
It sits about five miles east of central Brighton and five miles west of Newhaven, mostly within the city of Brighton and Hove, with the eastern end falling into the Lewes district. That means a customer might weigh up a Saltdean trade, a Brighton one and a Newhaven one in the same sitting. If your site is slow or missing, that search goes elsewhere, usually to whoever turned up first and looked the part.
You do not need to know anything technical. Tell us what you do and where you work, and we sort the design, the words, your .co.uk domain, the hosting and the upkeep. We build for businesses right along this coast and across Sussex, from tradespeople like BW Electrical to Oilfire Heating, so you always deal with a real person.
On Your Doorstep
Saltdean is younger than most of its neighbours. It was open farmland, part of Rottingdean, and almost uninhabited until 1924, when the land was sold off for speculative housing. Much of that early development was pushed by the entrepreneur Charles Neville, the same man behind Peacehaven and parts of Rottingdean. The village takes its name from its setting, a “dean”, the old Sussex word for a dry valley, with the tree-lined roads laid out in wide oval curves that follow the contours of the Downs. That plan was deliberately designed to feel different from the strict grid of neighbouring Peacehaven.
The best-known building is the Saltdean Lido, a grade II* listed open-air pool and community centre designed by R. W. H. Jones, who also designed the former Grand Ocean Hotel in the same Art Deco “ocean liner” style. Down at the shore, the shingle beach is fronted by the Undercliff Walk, a promenade you can reach by a subway tunnel from the Lido and follow all the way to Brighton Palace Pier. That mix of seafront, Lido and quiet residential streets shapes the kind of businesses that do well here.
The village is bordered by farmland and the South Downs National Park, and the A259 runs along its southern edge, carrying frequent buses west into Brighton and east towards Peacehaven, Seaford and Eastbourne. It is close-knit: a primary school, a football club at Hill Park, a swimming and surf club that still holds its Boxing Day sea swims. Most of Saltdean is part of Brighton and Hove, while East Saltdean falls into the Lewes district, and a 2025 consultation even proposed bringing that eastern end fully into the city. That local loyalty is worth a lot to a business that shows up properly online.
When someone searches “electrician Saltdean” or “near me” along this coast, Google leans on where a business is and how well its site is built. We write your pages so they clearly belong to Saltdean and the surrounding coast, set up your Google Business Profile, and make sure everything loads fast on a phone, which is where most of these searches happen.
Also covering: Rottingdean, Peacehaven, Telscombe Cliffs, Ovingdean, Newhaven, Brighton and the surrounding villages.
