Fast, professional websites for Polegate’s trades, shops and small firms. Built by a Sussex designer, live in about five working days, everything included.
Polegate is a busy road-and-rail town on the edge of the greater Eastbourne area, and a lot of its working population commutes out each day. That leaves a real local market for the trades and services who stay and work in the town, and those customers search online before they ring anyone. Page Forge builds Polegate businesses a professional website that goes live fast and starts bringing in enquiries. Everything included, live in about a week, from £99.
We are based in Hassocks, over on the western side of the county, so Polegate is a fair drive towards Eastbourne rather than round the corner. It makes no difference to the work. We build for Polegate businesses by phone and video, visiting when it genuinely helps, and most clients never need us on site. You still get one person who answers the phone and builds the site.
You do not need to know anything technical. Tell us what you do and where you work, and we handle the design, the words, your .co.uk domain, email and hosting, then keep it running. We build for small businesses right across Sussex, from an electrician to Sussex builders, and most sites are live within about five working days.
On Your Doorstep
Polegate sits on a ridge in the gap between the Weald and the South Downs, about four miles north of Eastbourne, with the Pevensey Levels stretching away to the east. It was a small settlement in the parish of Hailsham until the railways arrived in the 1840s, and it was the railway that made the town. Polegate became a busy junction with a freight terminal serving Hailsham and the local brick-making industry, and much of the early town grew up to house railway workers. There is older history here too: in the 12th century Premonstratensian monks occupied Otham Abbey in the parish before moving on to Bayham, and two buildings from that time, Otteham Court and its chapel, still stand.
The roads matter just as much. The Roman road from Pevensey to Lewes ran through here, the old London to Eastbourne turnpike came later, and today that turnpike is the A22, meeting the A27 at a junction inside the town boundary. That location gives local businesses quick access to Eastbourne, Hailsham, Brighton and Hastings, all reachable in well under an hour, which is why so many Polegate firms cover a wider area than the town itself. Four streets in the town, the Levett roads, still carry the name of an old Anglo-Norman family who held land across this part of Sussex.
Polegate is gradually growing into the Eastbourne conurbation, joining up with Willingdon to the south, and it has an older-than-average population, with well over a third of residents aged 65 and up at the last census. For a local business that means customers who value clear, straightforward service and a website that is easy to read and easy to use, not a flashy one that fights them. That is exactly the kind of site we build.
The businesses we build for here are the practical ones: trades and home services covering Polegate, Willingdon and out to Hailsham and Pevensey, independent shops along the High Street, and small firms run from home. The point of getting a site live in days rather than months is simple. Every week you are not findable online is a week those enquiries go to someone else.
Also covering: Willingdon, Hailsham, Wannock, Stone Cross, Eastbourne, Pevensey and the surrounding villages.
