Faster loading, cleaner design and no more monthly Wix fees creeping up. We move you across, keep your domain and rankings, and handle the lot.
Moving a website off Wix is the usual next step once the template that felt easy to start with has become a slow, fiddly site that Google will not rank. Wix is a reasonable way to get something online. Plenty of businesses then outgrow it: pages load slowly, the editor looks simple until you actually need a change, and the fees climb as you add features you thought were included. Wix also makes leaving awkward on purpose. You cannot export a working site cleanly. We rebuild it properly, keep your domain and your ranking, and switch you over with no downtime.
We have done this for real local businesses. Oilfire Heating in Uckfield had wrestled with Wix (and Squarespace) and wanted a site done for him so he could get back on the tools. Ruby’s Bakery in Burgess Hill was stuck on a slow Wix site that was a pain to update as the seasonal range moved. Sindall Building Contractors in Haywards Heath had a sluggish single-page Wix site that did not match 200-plus Checkatrade reviews. All three came across to a faster, hand-built site. That is the same rebuild we would do for you.
Because Wix will not let you take the site with you, this is a rebuild, not a file copy. We bring your content, images and the pages that already rank, then set 301 redirects from the old Wix addresses so Google follows. Your domain stays yours. If it is sitting on Wix’s nameservers we help you keep control and point it at the new site. Email is separate and keeps working. You leave Wix running until the new site is signed off, then you cancel and stop paying.
Afterwards there are no Wix fees and nothing to manage in their editor. One simple price, everything included, and a real person in Hassocks to call. The comparison of what you get instead is on our Wix alternative page. The ranking checklist is in moving off Wix without losing Google ranking. On Your Doorstep
Wix hosts the site on their platform. The pages you see in the editor are not a folder of HTML you can pick up and drop elsewhere. That is why “export my Wix site” is a dead end, and why cheap moves that screenshot the old layout into a new template often lose ranking: they change every address and forget the redirects. We treat it as a planned rebuild. List the pages, note what Search Console says is earning, carry the useful copy, and map every old URL.
Wix addresses can be messy too. Free subdomains, extra language folders, and old product or blog paths all need a home on the new site. Every important old address should lead somewhere sensible, never to a dead page. We test those links after launch, resubmit the sitemap, and keep your business name, address and phone identical on the site and on Google Business Profile. Consistency is a local ranking signal, and a move is exactly when details accidentally drift.
Speed is usually the first thing people notice after the switch. Wix pages carry a lot of editor and template code. A hand-built page does not. Visitors stay. Google’s speed tests stop being an embarrassment. For Ruby’s, that also meant a catalogue we update for them as the range changes, instead of fighting the editor every season. For Sindall it meant proper service and area pages that a single Wix page could not support. For Oilfire it meant the OFTEC and electrician credentials up top, on a page that loads when someone in Uckfield has no heating.
AI assistants have the same problem with Wix that Google does. A thick editor layer makes it harder to lift a clear answer, and some Wix setups make crawler access fiddly. After the move we write answer-first copy, add FAQ pairs and structured data, and check GPTBot is allowed in. That is the GEO work most Wix sites never had done, from £99 on top of the site.
The switch
Wix will not export a working site. We rebuild it the right way and you never have to open their editor again.
If the domain is with Wix we help you keep control of it. It stays in your name. We point it when the new site is ready.
Subdomains, blog paths, product pages: each one gets a 301 to the new home so ranking and old links survive.
The template weight goes away. Pages load on a phone, which is where most of your enquiries start.
Do not cancel first. We build alongside the old site and only move the domain once you have signed the new one off.
FAQ pairs, schema and crawler access, so assistants can quote you instead of skipping a heavy Wix page.
How It Works
We look at the live Wix site, list every page and note what Search Console sends visitors to. Nothing happens to Wix at this stage.
The domain stays yours. If Wix currently holds the nameservers, we plan that change with you so email and the website both land cleanly.
We rebuild the site properly and bring your content and images across. Your email keeps working throughout, untouched.
Every old page gets a 301 to its new home. That is how Google carries ranking over, and how old links from Google Business Profile still work.
Only once the new site is live and checked do we point the domain. Then you can cancel Wix and stop paying for it. Never the other way round.
