Websites for hotels & B&Bs that win the direct booking.

The rooms, the setting and a clear way to book direct, so more guests skip the commission sites. From £99, or a bigger build quoted per project.

Every booking that comes through an online travel agent costs you a chunk of the room rate in commission, often fifteen per cent or more. Guests use those sites to find you, then a good number will search your name to check you out and book direct if you make it easy. If your own website looks tired or has no clear way to book, you hand that booking, and its commission, straight back to the OTA. Page Forge builds hotels and B&Bs a website that shows the rooms and the setting and makes booking direct the obvious choice, so more of the room rate stays with you.

You run a property and greet guests, so the tech is our job, not yours. Tell us about your rooms, your rates, your setting and how you take bookings, and we design it, write it, handle the domain and host it. We build it light so it loads fast and looks right on a phone, because that is where most trip planning now happens, often late at night from the sofa. We write it so Google reads you as the place to stay in your area, and we set up your Google Business Profile so your photos, location and reviews show when someone searches for somewhere to stay near a beach, a wedding venue or a station.

We are based in Hassocks and work with independents across Sussex and beyond. A hotel or B&B is often more than one page: room-by-room detail, live availability, a booking engine, packages, dinner and policies all add up quickly. Where that is the case, we quote the bigger build per project rather than force it into the one-page price and leave guests short of the detail they need. A small B&B with a couple of rooms, though, can do very well with a single clear page that leads straight to a direct enquiry or booking button.

What your website needs to bring in work

king_bed

Rooms shown properly

Clear photos and honest detail for each room type: the bed, the view, the bathroom, what is included. Guests deciding between you and the next place want to picture the stay, and strong room pictures do more to close a booking than any amount of copy. Being straight about the smaller room as well as the best one also earns you the good review, because the guest gets exactly the room they thought they were booking.

calendar_month

A direct booking route

A prominent, obvious way to book or enquire direct, whether that is a booking engine we link through to, a form or a clear phone number. Every direct booking is one you keep the full rate on, so we make it the easiest button on the page. Over a year, nudging even a modest share of guests from the OTA to booking direct can pay for the whole site several times over, which is the real point of it.

The setting and the breakfast

The building, the garden, the views, the breakfast table laid and waiting. People book a stay on feeling as much as facts, so we show the character of the place and what makes a night with you different from a chain box off the ring road. For a B&B especially, that sense of somewhere personal and cared for is your biggest advantage, and it should come through the moment the page loads.

map

Location and what is nearby

A clear map and a genuine word on what is around you: the coast, the South Downs, a wedding venue, a station, the walk into town. Guests search by area and by reason for the trip, so showing you are handy for the thing they are visiting for helps you turn up in the right searches and reassures them the location works before they book.

star

Reviews and ratings that reassure

We surface real guest reviews and any ratings or awards, because a first-time guest booking a room they cannot see is leaning heavily on what others say. We never invent them, we simply put the reputation you have genuinely earned where a nervous booker will find it. When someone is choosing between you and a familiar chain, a run of warm, believable reviews is often the thing that tips them your way.

description

Rates, policies and the details

Nightly rates or a clear from-price, check-in and check-out times, parking, dogs, children, breakfast and cancellation terms. Setting expectations up front cuts the back-and-forth emails and the awkward surprises on arrival, and gives the guest the confidence to just go ahead and book. Clear policies also protect you, because the guest agreed to them before they arrived rather than arguing about them at the desk.

Three steps. That’s it.

No jargon, no committees, no six-week timelines. We get your area businesses online fast.

Common questions

Why do I need my own site if I am on Booking.com already?
Because a large share of guests who find you on an OTA will then search your name to check you out, and if your own site makes booking direct easy, many of them will, saving you the commission on that stay. The OTA is a shop window you rent at a high price. Your own website is the one you own outright, and over a year the direct bookings it wins can pay for it many times over while giving you the guest relationship rather than the platform keeping it.
Can you add a booking system with live availability?
Yes, though that is where a property usually needs more than one page. We can link through to a booking engine so guests book direct, and for a larger site we build in room-by-room detail, availability, packages and dinner. That is a bigger build we quote per project, because the price should match the work rather than a guess. A small B&B can start with a clear page and a direct enquiry or booking button, and grow into a fuller site once the direct bookings are flowing.
Is one page really enough for a hotel or B&B?
For a small B&B with a couple of rooms and enquiry-based booking, often yes, and it can look genuinely excellent. For a hotel with several room types, live availability, events, weddings, a restaurant and detailed policies, one page is not the right fit, and we will say so plainly. In that case we quote the bigger build per project rather than cram everything in and leave guests hunting for the detail they need to feel confident booking. The right size of site depends entirely on how much you are asking a guest to decide.
Will it help me show up when people search for somewhere to stay here?
That is a core part of the work. We build the site to be found in local and area searches and set up your Google Business Profile so your photos, location and reviews appear on the map. When someone searches for a B&B near the coast, a dog-friendly stay near the Downs or a hotel near a venue you are close to, that is what helps you appear rather than only the big chains and the OTAs. Turning up for those local, reason-for-the-trip searches is where an independent can really compete.
What does it cost and how quickly is it live?
A one-page B&B site is £99 to set up, then £29 a month or £299 a year, including hosting, updates and a real person in Sussex to call, and it is usually live in about five working days. A larger hotel build with a booking engine, multiple room pages, packages and events is quoted per project so the price matches the work. Local SEO to climb the results and win those area searches starts from £99 as a one-off, with no monthly lock-in.
