When someone is looking for a photographer, they judge you in the first few seconds, and they judge you on the pictures. They land on your site, glance at a gallery, and decide whether you are the person for their wedding, their newborn shoot or their brand shoot. If the images load slowly, sit behind a clunky template, or the enquiry form is buried, they hit back and try the next name on Google. Your website has one job: put your strongest work in front of them and make getting in touch effortless.

Most photographers we speak to have wrestled with a page builder that promised the world and delivered a slow, bloated site. Big galleries are exactly the sort of thing those platforms handle badly, because every image drags the page down. We hand-build your site so the photos are compressed and served properly, which means they look sharp and still load quickly on a phone. That matters, because most people find you on a phone and Google ranks fast pages higher.

Tell us what you shoot, who you shoot it for and how you want people to book, and we build the site around that. A clean portfolio up top, a short bit about you, clear pricing or a starting-from figure if you prefer, and an enquiry form that lands straight in your inbox. Live in about five working days, from £99, with a real person in Sussex to call. If you shoot several genres and want a proper multi-gallery site, we quote that to match rather than force it into the one-page format.

A few mistakes come up again and again on photographer sites, and they cost bookings. The first is uploading full-resolution files straight from the camera, which makes the page crawl and drives visitors away before a single image appears. The second is leading with a slideshow or a splash screen instead of the work, so people have to hunt for the photos they came to see. The third is a personality-free “about” page and a contact form buried at the bottom, when photography is a personal service and a warm introduction plus an easy enquiry route is exactly what converts a browser into a booking. We build to avoid all three, so the site does what it should: show the work, sound like you, and make getting in touch the obvious next step.

What your website needs to bring in work

photo_camera

Portfolio first

Your best images sit right at the top, sized and compressed to load fast without losing quality. Visitors see the work before they read a word, which is exactly how photographers get hired.

collections

Proper galleries

Grouped galleries for the genres you shoot, weddings, portraits, newborns, commercial, so a couple planning a wedding sees weddings, not your food photography. Bigger multi-gallery sites are quoted per project.

calendar_month

Easy booking & enquiries

A short enquiry form that captures the date, the type of shoot and the details you actually need, landing straight in your inbox so you can reply while they are still keen.

reviews

Reviews that reassure

A few genuine words from past clients, near the enquiry point, do more than any sales copy. We give your Google and testimonial quotes a place to sit where they build trust.

sell

Clear pricing or packages

Whether you list packages or prefer a “from” figure, we lay it out plainly. Vague pricing makes people hesitate, and a hesitant visitor rarely fills in the form.

bolt

Fast on a phone

Galleries are heavy by nature, so we optimise every image and hand-code the page to stay quick on mobile data. Fast pages keep visitors around and rank better on Google.

Three steps. That’s it.

No jargon, no committees, no six-week timelines. We get your area businesses online fast.

Common questions

Will my photos still look sharp if you compress them?
Yes. There’s a big difference between a raw file straight off the camera and a web-ready image. We resize and compress your shots so they stay crisp on screen while loading in a fraction of the time. Uploading full-size files is the single most common reason photographer sites feel slow. We also serve the right size for the device, so a phone doesn’t download a huge desktop image, and we make sure your strongest few shots load first rather than the whole gallery at once. The result looks every bit as good and keeps visitors from bouncing before your work appears.
Can I have separate galleries for different types of work?
Absolutely, and you should. Someone booking a newborn shoot doesn’t want to scroll through corporate headshots. We group your work by genre so the right visitor sees the right pictures. It also helps you rank, because a clearly labelled wedding gallery gives Google a reason to show you when someone searches for a wedding photographer nearby. If you shoot a lot of genres and want a large multi-gallery site with a page for each, we’ll quote that per project rather than cram it onto one page and slow everything down.
How do people book or enquire?
Most photographers prefer an enquiry form over instant online booking, because dates, locations and package details need a conversation first. We set up a short form that asks for the essentials, the date, the type of shoot and how to reach you, and drops the enquiry straight into your inbox so you can reply while they’re still keen. If you already use a booking or scheduling system, we link to it and make that button obvious. What we won’t do is bury the contact route at the very bottom of the page, which is where a surprising number of photographer sites hide it.
Should I show my prices?
It’s your call, and both work. Some photographers list clear packages, others prefer a “from £X” starting point to open the conversation. What doesn’t work is no pricing signal at all, because people assume the worst and move on without asking. Even a single starting figure filters out the enquiries that were never going to fit your rates and reassures the ones that will. We’ll help you pitch it right for the work you want to attract, whether that’s premium weddings or affordable family shoots.
I already have loads of images on Instagram. Do I still need a website?
Yes. Instagram is great for reach, but you don’t own it, you can’t control what shows next to your work, and it doesn’t rank on Google when someone searches for a photographer in your area. An algorithm change can bury your posts overnight, and a curious client still has to dig through captions to find your prices or how to book. Your website is the one place that is entirely yours, laid out the way you want, and it’s where the serious, ready-to-book enquiries come from. Instagram feeds the website; the website wins the work.
