A person deciding where to get coffee makes the call in seconds, usually on their phone, usually while walking. They search “cafe near me” or your name, and they want three things straight away: are you open, what have you got, and how do I find you. If your page is slow, or the menu is a photo of a chalkboard nobody can read on a small screen, they tap back and go to the place next door. Page Forge builds cafes a fast, clean website that answers those three questions before the customer has a chance to change their mind.

You will not touch a line of code or log into anything, which is right, because your morning belongs to the machine and the queue. Tell us your menu, your hours and where you are, and we design it, write it, sort your domain and host it. One page, built light so it loads in a blink on a phone with one bar of signal, which is the honest reality of someone standing on the pavement deciding. We write it so Google reads you as the cafe in your area, and we set up your Google Business Profile, the listing with your photos, hours and reviews that shows on the map when someone nearby searches for breakfast, brunch or a decent flat white.

We are based in Hassocks and look after independents across Sussex and further afield. A good nearby example is Ruby’s Bakery in Burgess Hill, food-led, photo-heavy and fast, which is exactly the shape a cafe site should take. If you want a full online ordering system for collection or delivery, with payment and time slots, that is a bigger build we quote to match rather than squeeze into the one-page price. Most cafes, though, win plenty of trade from one honest page done properly and a Google listing kept tidy.

What your website needs to bring in work

restaurant_menu

A menu people can actually read

Your food and drink set out as real text, not a blurry photo of a board, so it loads fast, reads on any phone and Google can index it. We keep it easy to update when prices or specials change, and we note allergen and vegan options clearly. A readable menu also helps you turn up when someone searches for a specific thing, a vegan breakfast or a proper decaf, that tells them you are their kind of place.

schedule

Opening hours you can trust

When you open, when the kitchen stops serving, whether you do a Sunday brunch. We put the hours where they cannot be missed and keep them tied to your Google listing, so the person on the pavement knows you are open before they walk over. Nothing loses a would-be regular faster than turning up to a dark window twenty minutes after the kitchen closed, and this is the simplest way to stop it happening.

map

Find us, with directions

A clean map, your address and a note on parking or the nearest way in on foot. One tap opens directions on their phone, which is often the difference between a passing customer choosing you and choosing the chain on the corner they already know. If you are tucked down a side street or up a lane, this matters even more, because a cafe that is hard to find is a cafe half the trade never reaches.

photo_camera

The look of the place

Photos of the room, the counter, the coffee and the plates. People want to know the feel of a cafe before they commit: whether it is laptop-friendly, dog-friendly, good for a pram, quiet or lively. Good pictures answer all of that faster than any paragraph and set the right expectation, so the people who walk in are the ones who will love it and come back rather than feel they got the wrong idea.

star

Reviews and the Google Business Profile

We set up or tidy your Google Business Profile so your best reviews, photos and hours show on the map, and we surface a few real reviews on the site itself. That is the trust a new customer leans on when they have never been in before and are choosing between you and three others on the same street. We never invent a review, we simply put the genuine ones where a first-timer will actually see them.

event

What is on and who you cater

Live music, a supper club, quiz nights, or catering for local offices, christenings and events. If you do it, we give it a clear spot so regulars and event bookers can find it, rather than it getting lost in a social post from last Tuesday. Catering and functions are often the most profitable side of a cafe, so it pays to make that enquiry easy instead of hoping people think to ask.

Three steps. That’s it.

No jargon, no committees, no six-week timelines. We get your area businesses online fast.

Common questions

Everyone finds me on Instagram already. Do I really need a website?
Social is brilliant for regulars and for showing the atmosphere, but it is not where a stranger searching “coffee near me” ends up, and it does not reliably show your menu, your hours or a map. Google does that, and a website plus a proper Google Business Profile is how you win the search. It is also yours to keep, not a feed whose reach changes whenever the platform feels like it. Think of Instagram as the shop window for people who already know you, and the website as the thing that catches everyone who does not yet.
Can I take orders online for collection or delivery?
A simple enquiry or pre-order form is easy to add, so someone can reserve a table or order a cake ahead. A full ordering system with payment, time slots and a live menu is a bigger build, so we quote that per project rather than force it into the one-page price. Most cafes do very well with a clear menu, honest hours and a phone number, and add ordering later if the demand is genuinely there. We would rather you spent the money once you know you need it than pay for a system that sits idle.
How do I keep the menu and hours up to date?
You email or message us the change and we make it, included, up to six times a year. A new seasonal menu, a bank holiday closure, a price tweak, all covered without you touching anything. For day-to-day specials, your Google Business Profile and social accounts are the right tools, and we will set you up so a quick post there reaches the people already looking for you. The site holds the things that stay put; the fast-moving stuff lives where it is quickest to post from your phone behind the counter.
Will it work when someone is standing outside with bad signal?
That is exactly what we build for. We hand-code a light page with no heavy templates or plugins, so it loads fast even on a weak mobile connection in a doorway. A slow site is the quiet killer for cafes, because the customer who has to wait three seconds has already looked up somewhere else and started walking. Speed is not a nice-to-have in this trade, it is close to the whole game, and it is the one thing template builders like Wix and Squarespace tend to be worst at.
What does it cost and how quickly can it go live?
Around five working days once we have your menu, photos and details. It is £99 to set up, then £29 a month or £299 a year, which includes hosting, updates and a real person in Sussex to call rather than a ticket queue. Local SEO to climb the map results starts from £99 as a one-off. There is no WordPress, no monthly creep as you add features and no surprise invoices, so you can budget for it like any other small fixed cost of the business.
